Initial Critical Response

Man & Witch is moving closer to its release. While many of the details are still being worked out, we are likely to see a premiere at a festival as early as the fall somewhere in North America. After that the plan is to work towards a small number of theatrical screening events at the end of the year, prior to making the film available to rent or purchase on line. Internal test screenings continue to be overwhelmingly positive, and this contributes to our sense that to fully appreciate the nostalgic joys of Man & Witch one would ideally get a chance to see it in a theater. The extent to which that will be possible is still an open question, but we're doing our best to make that happen if only in a limited way.

This week we have had some very positive coverage in some genre blogs. Some of the reviews contain significant spoilers so fair warning to all, but we'd like to start sharing those with you here.

Worldfilmgeek writes:

"Man and Witch: The Dance of a Thousand Steps is a fantastic family film that must be seen for fans of the 80s and early 90’s family fantasy films. With this genre on its way to having a major resurgence as of late, this is one of the perfect films for nostalgia fans to share with their kids. Greg Steinbruner and Tami Stronach clearly have a winner of a film on their hands with their perfect chemistry.”
